Tourism and Culture Awards evening

'Well done the volunteers!'
‘Well done the volunteers!’

It was a great tribute to the work of the Unlocking Warwick volunteers to be selected as finalists in the Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism and Culture Awards 2016. The awards were announced at a splendid gala dinner in Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.

Unlocking Warwick was represented by our Chair, Karen Parker, and Committee Member Gina Tipton. They clearly enjoyed the glamorous occasion. The worthy winner in our History and Heritage category was the refurbished British Motor Museum at Gaydon.

We were very pleased to be selected as finalists alongside so many big organisations involved in tourism and culture in our region, such as the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Warwick Castle, Warwick Arts Centre and many other leading attractions in the county.

Unlocking Warwick was the only non-profit volunteer group to be selected as finalists, and the only one based in Warwick Town Centre, where we are helping to make the restored Court House in Jury Street a centre of community activity celebrating the town’s rich history.
