Our 80s evening  on Saturday May 27th is getting people talking. The Leamington and Warwick Courier has featured the event prominently in this week’s paper and online.

And there are still some tickets left, available from the Warwick Visitor Information Centre at the Court House in Jury Street. Drop in or phone them on 01926 492212.

“80s Tropicana” might see a few colourful outfits on show in the Court House ballroom as guests enjoy a retro disco, a fish and chip supper, a quiz about the eighties, a display of local newspaper articles from 30 years ago and some bright decorations.

It seems that the eighties have become very fashionable.

Patricia Frogley, owner of the Harlequin Party Shop in Smith Street who makes many of her period costumes for hire, says, “We are getting lots of requests for 80s clothes at the moment, ranging from shoulder-padded jackets to embroidered blouses and coloured tights, as people hold their own themed parties. It was such a fun decade, and reliving those years is now incredibly popular”.

If you fancy going back to the eighties on 27th, tickets cost £19.80 to include the supper and a welcome cocktail from the bar.
