The Saturday Market in Warwick reopened on May 23rd, but in a very different form, in order to keep everyone safe.
It was limited to ten food stalls in two rows of five and a single entrance to the space between them. Staff from CJ’s Events controlled the number of people in the stalls area at any one time, and there was a queuing system with social distancing signs.
§Shoppers said it seemed to work fairly well, though of course the numbers attending the market were significantly lower than usual. So next Saturday, May 30th, be prepared to queue to enter the market and at each individual stall.
On 25th May, the government announced that from the beginning of June, outdoor markets could reopen with stalls selling ‘non-essential’ items, so from Saturday 6th June, the Warwick market is expected to have more stalls, but social distancing measures will continue.
