A wonderful Tea Dance

On February 23rd, there was some fine ballroom dancing on display in the Court House as the Town Council and the Unlocking Warwick volunteers staged a tea dance for local people.

Despite Storm Doris roaring outside, nearly 70 Warwick residents braved the windy weather to come to the ballroom and glide around the floor before enjoying tea and cakes and some informal chat. Music was selected by professional dance teacher Terry Perkins, and included a range of classic waltzes, foxtrots and tangos.

The restored Regency ballroom – reopened in 2014 after a major refurbishment of the building – has a sprung oak floor with a perfect surface for ballroom dancing. The room can be hired for private functions such as anniversary dinners or wedding receptions; there is full disabled access with a lift from the ground floor, and a fully fitted kitchen.
