An Unexpected Quiz Afternoon
On July 12th, guests who came to the monthly social gathering ‘In The Ballroom’ at the Court House found themselves answering some pretty difficult quiz questions instead of sitting back for a talk about dried-flower arranging.
The speaker had to call off her appearance at the very last minute, so Rick hastily assembled a fiendish quiz instead. Eight teams competed, answering 30 questions on Geography, History and Nature.
The winning team scored an impressive 22 out of 30. After the usual tea, coffee and selection of cakes, guests were able to complete Helen’s picture quiz on the theme of flowers and gardens, so there were two prize-winners this time. The questions are below if you want to have a go.
The next In The Ballroom tea will be at 2pm on Wednesday 9th August, when Bill Devitt will tell the story of the famous Orient Express. It costs just £3 per person including the refreshments.
Numbers are limited by space, so please reserve your place at the Visitor Information Centre in Jury Street, or phone them on 01926 492212.
