Bank Holiday Tour 28th August
Our next Court House Tour will be on the Summer Bank Holiday – Monday 28th August, at 11am.
These free 45-minute tours around the inside and outside of the Court House and Town Hall in Jury Street tell of the construction of the building in 1725 by the noted architect Francis Smith, and its recent refurbishment.
The tours also introduce visitors to some of the history of the county town, which dates back more than 1,100 years.
Please note that there are no longer any courts in the old Court House! For more than 40 years the County Magistrates have been sitting at the Law Centre in Leamington. The Warwick building houses the Town Council’s chamber and offices, the Visitor Information Centre, the Warwickshire Yeomanry Museum, and the restored Regency ballroom on the first floor.
If you would like to join the tour, Patrick and Tricia will be waiting for you in the Visitor Information Centre, and tours start in Pageant Gardens at the back of the building.
