Be a Volunteer!

Chatting to residents over tea in the ballroom
Chatting to residents over tea in the ballroom

Unlocking Warwick is issuing a fresh appeal for new people to join the volunteer group based at the Jury Street Court House.

We have lots of great activities planned for the coming year, and if more people get involved, we can do even more. Unlocking Warwick is an enthusiastic and creative group of volunteers who share an interest in bringing the community together, celebrating Warwick’s rich history and encouraging visitors. So why not join us?

You can do as much or as little as you like, depending on time available and your particular interests.

For example, every month there is a tea in the Court House Ballroom for local people who might particularly appreciate some company – with a talk or presentation, and a quiz, with plenty of time to chat and make new friends over tea, coffee and cake.

As well as helping to serve the tea, could you chat to people about their memories of Warwick for a social history project being planned?

Could you help us conduct research in the County Record Office in Priory Park, to find records of magistrates’ hearings in the Court House in the 18th and 19th centuries for dramatic reconstructions.

Could you help in the bar when we have period concerts and dances in the ballroom, such as the Christmas Regency Ball?

If you would like to know more, contact our Secretary Rick Thompson on info@unlockingwarwick.org

Or come along to our next meeting at 6.30pm on Monday 27th March in the Court House in Jury Street.
