Big Quiz in the Ballroom

Guests who came to the July edition of our social get-together ‘In The Ballroom’ enthusiastically and rather unexpectedly took part in a ‘Big Afternoon Quiz’. The scheduled talk and demonstration about drying and displaying flowers had been postponed at the last minute after the speaker caught Covid-19.

So the quiz devised by Helen, Rick and Gill had four tables competing against each other with six rounds of 15 questions each. One particularly enjoyable round was to identify TV theme tunes played from her iPad by Gill.  Was that ‘Open All Hours’ or ‘Porridge’? ‘Poldark’ or ‘Howard’s Way’?

There was the usual tea, coffee, cake and time to chat. The next session of ‘In The Ballroom’ at the Court House in Jury Street will be on Wednesday 10th August at the usual time of 2pm, when Steve Bruce will be talking about antiques and collectibles.

He’ll be happy to tell guests about any small items they’d like to bring in, though he won’t be doing valuations, just explaining what the items are, their age and perhaps where they were made.

It is essential to reserve your place in advance by dropping in to the Visitor Information Centre, or calling them on 01926 492212.

‘In the Ballroom’ on the second Wednesday of the month is brought to you by Unlocking Warwick, the Court House volunteer group, on behalf of the Town Council, supported by the Big Lottery ‘Awards for All’ and The King Henry VIII Endowed Trust.
