Coming up on May 7th and 8th
This week there will be two community events in the Court House ballroom as the first Tuesday and the second Wednesday of the month fall on successive days.
On Tuesday 7th May from 2pm to 4pm, it will be this month’s Tea and Dance Lesson, with professional dance teachers leading guests through the steps of some of the ballroom classics. Ballroom dancing is excellent exercise – good for balance and posture – and it’s great fun.
You don’t need any experience, and you don’t need to come with a partner. Just link up with someone else and take to the floor. There’s tea, coffee, cake and plenty of time to chat during the interval. The Tea and Dance Lessons cost just £2.50 per person.
Then on Wednesday 8th May from 2pm to 4pm, it will be the popular monthly social ‘In The Ballroom’. This month Roger Butler will be giving an illustrated talk about our local canals, and the importance of the canal network to Britain’s industrial revolution. And there will be the usual tea and cake, and a brain-teasing quiz. ‘In The Ballroom’ costs just £2 per person.
These monthly social events are organised by Unlocking Warwick for the Town Council. There is no need to book for either the Tea and Dance Lessons or ‘In The Ballroom’. Just turn up at the Court House in Jury Street for a 2pm start.
