Court House Tour this Saturday
On Saturday 29th April there will be a Court House Tour with Tricia Scott from Unlocking Warwick telling the story of the Grade-1 listed building on the corner of Jury Street and Castle Street, and relating some of the rich history of the county town since its origins in Saxon times.
The tour is free and will last 45 minutes, starting at 10.30am in the Visitor Information Centre.
Note that there no longer any courts in the Old Court House. The magistrates’ court moved to the new Justice Centre in Leamington in the 1970s. The building is the Town Hall, with Town Council Offices, a small Council Chamber, the Visitor Centre, a restored Regency ballroom on the first floor, and the Warwickshire Yeomanry Museum in the basement.
There’s no need to book, but numbers will be limited to 15 people for practical reasons, so first come, first on the tour.
