Court House Tours Sat 9th and Sun 10th Sept.

The Warwick Heritage Open Days weekend is coming, and Unlocking Warwick volunteers will offer free Court House Tours on both Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September.

They will start at 11am in the Pageant Gardens behind the Information Centre in the Court House at the junction of Jury Street and Castle Street. There’s no need to book, but numbers have to be limited, so it is a case of getting there in good time to be sure to be on the tour.

On Sunday, there will be a second tour at 2pm if there’s a demand for it.

These 45-minute tours tell of the buildings that occupied this central site since Saxon times, and the construction of the present grade 1 listed Court House by Francis Smith in 1725.

Guides also introduce visitors to some of the rich history of Warwick, including its rebuilding after the Great Fire of 1694.
