Dates announced for ‘In the Ballroom’
The monthly social get-together at the Jury Street Court House called ‘In the Ballroom’ has been a clear success since it was launched in October. So the Town Council has decided to continue organising them for the rest of 2017, supported by a team of volunteers from Unlocking Warwick.
‘In the Ballroom’ takes place from 2pm to 4.30pm on a Thursday afternoon each month, with a talk or presentation, a quiz related to the subject, and tea and cake. There’s plenty of time to chat and make new friends.
We are particularly keen to attract Warwick residents who may find it a little difficult to get out and are in danger of feeling a bit isolated. If you know of someone who would particularly like this informal teatime social, please bring them along.
So get your diaries out and note the dates: March 9th (Memories of post-war Warwick); March 30th (The Darker Side of Victorian Warwick); April 27th (the Boxing Turpins); May 25th (Talking Gardening). On June 22nd, weather permitting, there will be a ‘Great Get-together’ cream tea in Pageant Garden; more details later.
Various talks and activities are being planned for later in the year – on July 20th, August 17th (tbc), September 14th (tbc), October 12th, November 9th and December 7th. We’ll be posting news of talks and confirmation of dates as soon as they are arranged. Or you can check with the Town Hall office on 01926 411694.
