Easter Saturday Court House Tour
The first of this year’s Court House Tours by members of Unlocking Warwick will be on Easter Saturday at 11am.
These 45-minute tours of the Court House and its immediate surroundings are free to attend. But numbers have to be limited for safety and practical reasons, so to be sure of a place, get to the Visitor Information Centre in good time. The tours start in the Pageant Gardens behind the Court House.
Guides will talk about the buildings that stood on this site at Warwick’s central cross roads since Saxon times, the construction of the present stone Court House after the Great Fire of Warwick, and its re-opening after a major refurbishment 3 years ago. The tours serve as an introduction to Warwick’s rich history since its founding as a fortified town by King Alfred’s daughter over a thousand years ago.
