Easter Saturday Tour

The first Court House Tour of the 2018 season will be at 11am on Easter Saturday, March 31st.

These free 45-minute tours round the inside and outside of the refurbished Grade 1 listed Court House/Town Hall in Jury Street tell the story of the buildings on this central site and introduce visitors to the rich history of the county town.

Hear about the origins of Warwick in Saxon times, the powerful families that ran the town from the castle until the creation of a corporation in the 16th century, and The Great Fire of Warwick in 1694.

After the fire, Francis Smith was commissioned to build the present building which now houses the small Town Council Chamber previously the Mayor’s Parlour, the Visitor Information Centre, the Warwickshire Yeomanry Museum and the Regency ballroom.

There’s no need to book for the tour, but numbers have to be limited for practical reasons, so it’s a case of first come, first to be on the tour! Meet in the Pageant Gardens just behind the Visitor Information Centre.
