‘Extremely interesting’ Court House Tour
Guests who joined our Court House Tour on Bank Holiday Saturday were very appreciative of the story of the Grade-1 listed building and the brief history of Warwick. One said it was extremely interesting to hear about the Great Fire that destroyed the town centre in 1694, and the rebuilding in the style we now call Georgian.
Most of the guests were from the local area, but a student visiting from Switzerland said he had not been aware of how important the Earls of Warwick had been in the history of the royal successions.
They were able to have a look at the Regency ballroom, which was being prepared for the annual Warwick Horticultural Show – open to the public on August 29th and 30th.
The next free Court House Tour will be on Saturday 4th September from 11am to 11.45am. Please book your place by calling into the Visitor Information Centre, or calling them on 01926 492212.
