Fakes or Fortunes October 4th

The October edition of ‘In the Ballroom’ – the social gathering the Court House ballroom with a talk, quiz, tea and cake – will hear about the antiques business from top auctioneer and valuer Steve Bruce.

How do you spot a fake? How do you spot a bargain at auction? He’ll tell some stories of surprise finds with some anecdotes about his career including his experiences in broadcasting. There will also be a fiendish quiz about artists, antiques and auctions, with the usual afternoon tea served by Unlocking Warwick volunteers.

If you bring along some small items which could be of interest, Steve may find time to give you an approximate valuation.

In the Ballroom has become a very popular monthly get-together. If you know of someone living in Warwick who doesn’t get out much and would enjoy a stimulating afternoon with good company over tea and cake, why not bring them along? There is no need to book; just turn up for In the Ballroom between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday 4th October. It costs just £2 per person.

In the Ballroom is organised by Unlocking Warwick and Warwick Town Council with support from the Big Lottery ‘Awards for All’ and the King Henry VIII Endowed Trust.
