Cyclists in the High Street
Past the Lord Leycester Hospital

On Thursday 16th June, the Aviva Women’s Tour hurtled past the Jury street Court House in the centre of Warwick, with nearly 100 top cyclists from around the world aiming to be the champion of Britain.

Accompanied by police motorcycle outriders and a convoy of support vehicles, it took the women cyclists less than three minutes to arrive through Saltisford, dash along Northgate Street and through the Market Place, then swing round Westgate to sweep down the High Street and past the Old Court House into Jury Street, before passing the castle and disappearing at speed along the Banbury Road.

The High Street was closed at the very last moment, and reopened to traffic immediately after the riders had passed through, so credit to the scores of stewards and police who kept disruption to a minimum.
