Not Exactly Rainin’ Men

On February 13th, the monthly Tea and Dance Lessons afternoon in the Court House ballroom was much enjoyed by those who braved the rain to attend. But it wasn’t exactly raining men.

Some of the women gamely took the lead roles as dance professional instructors Chris and Greta showed everyone the steps and moves of ballroom classics such as the waltz and the social foxtrot.

It would be good to have more men coming along to these dancing get-togethers on the second Tuesday of each month. It’s an enjoyable afternoon, with tea and cake and time to chat in the interval, and is extremely good exercise for your suppleness, balance and posture.

So spread the word and encourage more men to come along and enjoy a bit of ballroom dancing instruction in a relaxed atmosphere. No previous experience is required. And you don’t need to bring a partner. There are plenty of women in need of a dance partner.

The monthly Tea and Dance Lessons are organised for the Town Council by Cllr. Dorothy Da Cruz, assisted by volunteers from Unlocking Warwick. They happen from 2pm to 4pm and cost just £2.50 to cover the cost of the refreshments. The next dance afternoon will be on March 13th. No need to book; just turn up.
