Regency Ball – Feedback from Guests
In the days following the 2018 Warwick Christmas Regency Ball in the Jury Street Court House, guests have been emailing the organiser, Tricia Scott, with some very nice feedback. Here’s a sample:
“It was a lovely ball and I think it improves from year to year. This was our second time and we would like to repeat the experience next year”.
“Once again the ball was a delightful experience, the organisers friendly and efficient, and the Court House atmospheric, just the place for a ball. We made some new friends, and we are looking forward to next year. Please wish all involved a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.
“Many thanks for all your hard work in organising another very successful Regency Ball. We thoroughly enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next one!”
“The Ball is a highlight of our year and I think this one was the best one yet. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The costumes looked great and the caller made each dance very clear to follow. I hope it will run for many years to come”.
“Just a note to thank everyone involved in the ball on Saturday. It was a super evening and all the hard work in preparation and planning is much appreciated. We look forward to being there again next year”.
“Thanks a million for a fantastic Ball on Saturday, All the group said they thoroughly enjoyed the evening, great dances and music and the food was excellent, just enough during the break. Everyone said they want to come again next year, brilliant night. Thanks again to you and your colleagues for all the hard work put in to organising it. Really good!”
“Our thanks to Unlocking Warwick for putting on the event – it’s great to see the restored ballroom being used for its original purpose. Full marks for presenting the dances in their social context too – almost as interesting as the dances themselves”.
It is heartening for the volunteers to get such enthusiastic and appreciative comments (unsolicited). It seems we’ll have to keep staging the Warwick Ball! 2019 will be its sixth year. The first revival Regency ball was held in 2014 – the year the Court House reopened after a major refurbishment that included a new ballroom floor and authentic redecoration.
The volunteers will be meeting in January, and will be aiming to choose a date for the ball next Christmas.
