Return of the Tours
With thirty people now able to assemble out of doors, Unlocking Warwick’s Court House Tours are back.
These free tours on selected Saturdays through the summer are a gentle 45-minute stroll around the Court house/Town Hall while guides tell something of the rich history of the town, and the construction of the building after the Great Fire of Warwick had destroyed much of the centre of town.
Fifteen people joined the first tour of the summer at the end of May. Tour guide Rick Thompson says, “With so few visitors to Warwick from overseas because of pandemic restrictions, the guests did not come very far away, but they all seemed to enjoy finding out more about the county town, and the Grade -1 listed Court House, and they loved seeing the restored Regency ballroom on the first floor.
We hope more people who come to Warwick on market days will start their visit with a Court House Tour. Number are limited so it is essential to book by popping in to the Visitor Information Centre, or by calling them on 01926 492212.”
These are the tour dates for the rest of the summer:
June 19th, July 3rd, July 17th, August 7th, August 28th, September 4th and September 19th (a Sunday on the Heritage Open Days weekend).
