Stand By for More Disruption

No sooner have the temporary traffic lights at the Westgate been removed than more traffic management is due to start at the other end of town – at the Northgate Junction.

The County Council has announced that work on the junction will begin in May 7th, and will last until August. The junction by Northgate Methodist Church and the old police station connects Saltisford, Barrack Street, Northgate Street, The Butts, Priory Road and Cape Road.

The changes are designed to ease congestion, reduce air pollution, and improve safety for pedestrians, and the council says “it will improve the setting of a key gateway into the town”. The scheme also includes a number of traffic management changes including a right turn only into Northgate Street from Barrack Street and prohibiting a right turn into Northgate Street for Eastbound vehicles travelling from Saltisford/A425.Here are their pictures of what it will look like when finished.

More information is on the County Council website where details of progress will be posted:  https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/northgateworks
