The May edition of Tea and Dance Lessons in the Court House Ballroom saw a bit of ‘hip action’ as guests tried a rhumba after warming up with a waltz.
Professional dance teachers Greta and Barbara from Majestic Dance gave individual tuition to the couples starting with the basic steps and the correct ‘hold’. Soon the guests were moving smoothly round the floor. Ballroom dancing is an excellent way to stay flexible and to improve your posture and balance.
As usual there was tea in the interval, with some fine cake provided by Councillor Dorothy Da Cruz, and plenty of time to sit and chat.
The Tea and Dance Lessons, organised by Warwick Town Council with support from Unlocking Warwick volunteers, happen from 2pm to 4pm on the second Tuesday of every month, and cost just £2.50. No previous experience is necessary, and you don’t have to bring a partner. Just team up with someone else. So why not come along on June 12th. It’s good fun, good exercise and good company.
