The Cadbury Story 9th October
With Warwick’s Chocolate Festival on Sunday 6th October, the monthly social ‘In The Ballroom’ the following Wednesday – Oct 9th – will hear about The Cadbury Story.
Alan Thornton’s illustrated talk will trace the development of the chocolate dynasty founded in Birmingham by the Quaker John Cadbury in the early 19th century. And he hopes to show a 1950s film about why his son George founded the famous Bournville Estate.
The company is still going strong. On 2013 The Daily Telegraph named Cadbury as one of Britain’s most successful export brands.
‘In the Ballroom’ on the second Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm features a talk or activity, tea, coffee and cake, with plenty of time to chat and make new friends. It costs just £2.00 including the refreshments.
There’s no need to book. Just turn up at the Court House in Jury Street for a 2pm start.
