Tickets Now on Sale for the Murder Trial
Unlocking Warwick’s dramatic reconstruction of a murder trial that took place in the town two hundred years ago will be on the final day of the Warwick Words History Festival on Sunday 6th October.
Tickets at £12 are now on sale at the box office in the Warwick Visitor Information Centre in the Court House or phone the Warwick Words box office on 01926 334418.
The trial of Abraham Thornton for the murder of Mary Ashford gripped the nation and was to make legal history. It will be recreated in the ballroom of the Jury Street Court House using the original records of the trial, performed in collaboration with the drama departments of Warwick School and King’s High School.
Doors will open at 7.30pm with the trial beginning at 8pm. A bar will be available while the members of the jury consider their verdict. There were some unexpected developments after the verdict had been delivered…
