Tour of Britain in Warwick

On 5th September, the Tour of Britain men’s cycle race zoomed through Warwick for the first time since 1993. Unlocking Warwick volunteers were among those from the District Council, the Town Council and the Visitor Information Centre who were handing out information cards, flags and blow-up batons for the crowds along the route to wave the riders through the town.

Hundreds lined the roads and live coverage on ITV 4, including some helicopter shots, showed the beautiful town to a wider audience as the cyclists passed through.

Volunteering with Unlocking Warwick certainly provides variety in our community work.
