Barbara Wigmore
Barbara Wigmore, one of the founder members of Unlocking Warwick and a well-known and well-liked figure in the town, has died at the age of 93.
Barbara was involved in most of the volunteer group’s activities, and helped in the Visitor Information Centre on many occasions. Her good friend, Stuart Davies writes:
“Barbara volunteered with many organisations in Warwick and Leamington as well as being a Captain of the Boat Club and an ardent bridge player. She was particularly interested in local history in Warwick. A fantastic artist and avid gardener- Barbara enjoyed anything that was creative and sharing her knowledge and skills – she was a retired Deputy Headmistress and enjoyed the company of all ages.
A thoughtful and kind friend – she had a life well-lived and will be remembered with great affection”. Stuart Davies.
Here are some pictures of the extraordinary Barbara Wigmore in her long retirement from teaching.
